In a session I hosted with Joan Borysenko for the Inspiring Women with Soul online gathering, we discussed the healing properties of turmeric. Turmeric helps improve digestion and is said to be 5 to 8 times stronger than vitamin E and C. So it’s a powerful ally to our is immune system.
We also discussed a very delicious way to get your daily dose of turmeric. So here’s the recipe!!
- 1/3 cup organic coconut oil (in solid form, not liquid)
- 3/4 teaspoon ground turmeric (Procure organic turmeric if possible, the higher the quality, the better! Can also start with less turmeric if you sense it will be too strong for you)
- few dashes of freshly ground pepper
- dollop of honey for sweetness (ideally raw honey)
Add these items to a glass jar in the order listed above. After all the items are in the jar, use a fork to mash together all of the ingredients. Voila! You are done!
Now enjoy eating 1-2 teaspoons of this blend each day. It takes like a dessert to me. So yummy and healthy too!
